Objects with a past, placed privately.
Atlas Heritage introduces exceptional pieces to verified collectors, away from the auction room. The piece stays with its owner until sale, and payment passes directly between the parties or through independent escrow.
Four disciplines, one standard of care
Each department works with its own specialists, restorers, conservators and gemmologists. We accept a piece only when its history can be documented and its condition independently confirmed.
Classic & Collector Cars
Pre-war coachbuilt cars, post-war grand tourers, cars with competition history and modern limited editions.
Fine Art
Paintings, works on paper and sculpture, from Old Masters to post-war and contemporary art.
Antique Furniture & Interiors
Period furniture, clocks, silver, lighting and decorative objects for residences and yachts.
Fine Jewellery & Watches
Signed jewellery, period and estate pieces, important gemstones and collectible timepieces.
Two ways to sell. Choose the one that suits the piece.
Auction suits some pieces very well. Many owners, however, prefer to sell without a public catalogue, a fixed sale date or a published result. This is how the two routes compare.
| Private sale with Atlas Heritage | Public auction | |
|---|---|---|
| Discretion | Offered only to selected collectors. The price is never published. | Catalogued and marketed publicly, and results are published. |
| Price | You set the asking price and approve any offer. | Set by bidding on the day, protected by a reserve. |
| Timing | Completes whenever the right buyer is found, with no sale calendar. | Tied to the auction calendar, often several months ahead. |
| Costs | One commission, agreed in writing in advance and paid only on completion. | Seller's commission and charges, plus a buyer's premium paid by the buyer. |
| If unsold | No public record. The piece can be offered again quietly later. | The lot is recorded as unsold, which can affect its future value. |
| Upside | Price agreed by negotiation with a matched buyer. | Competitive bidding can exceed the estimate. |
From first enquiry to completion
A private sale usually takes between a few weeks and a few months, depending on the piece and the documentation already available.
Submission
You send photographs, documents and your price expectations in confidence. We reply within two working days with an initial view.
Verification
We confirm your identity and title, review provenance, and arrange an independent condition or authenticity report where needed.
Private presentation
The piece is offered discreetly to matched collectors. Viewings and inspections are arranged where the piece is kept.
Completion
Buyer and seller sign a direct contract and settle directly or through independent escrow. Title passes between them.
For owners, collectors and families
Every engagement starts with a confidential conversation. The scope and the commission are agreed in writing before we make any introduction.
Private sale
For owners who want to sell discreetly. We prepare the documentation, present the piece to suitable buyers and manage the negotiation through to completion.
Search mandates
For collectors looking for something specific, such as a particular car and specification, an artist's work from a given period, or a signed jewel. We search quietly through our network, including pieces that are not on the market.
Collection and estate sales
For families, executors and family offices. We help place an entire collection, or selected pieces from it, with care and discretion and without the publicity of a single-owner sale.
Price guidance
We give an indicative view of market value from comparable private and public sales. Where a formal valuation is needed for insurance, probate or tax, we refer you to an independent accredited appraiser.
Inspection and logistics
We coordinate independent inspections, enclosed car transport, specialist fine-art shippers, secure storage and customs agents through trusted partners.
Interiors sourcing
For interior designers, private residences and yachts. We source period furniture, lighting, clocks and works of art to a brief and a budget.
What we will and will not handle
Trust is the whole business. These rules apply to every piece and every client, without exception.
We know who is on both sides
Every buyer and seller completes identity checks, and source-of-funds checks where required, before any introduction. Larger transactions receive enhanced due diligence.
No ivory and no protected species
We do not handle items made of or containing ivory, tortoiseshell, rhino horn or any CITES-restricted material. We also decline any piece whose ownership or export history is unclear.
We never handle the money
Funds move directly between the parties or through a regulated escrow agent. Atlas Heritage takes no title and holds no client money at any stage.
The private list
Most of the pieces we handle are never shown publicly. Collectors on our private list hear about them first, matched to what they are actually looking for.
- Pieces offered to you before any wider marketing
- Full documentation and independent reports on request
- Search mandates for a specific car, artist or maker
- Viewings arranged in the United Kingdom, Europe or the Gulf
The finest pieces rarely change hands in public. They pass quietly, between people who understand them. The Atlas Heritage approach
Before you contact us
If your question is not answered here, write to the private office at private@atlasheritage.eu.
What does Atlas Heritage do?
Atlas Heritage is a private brokerage. We introduce owners of exceptional classic cars, works of art, antique furniture and fine jewellery to verified collectors, and we help collectors find specific pieces. We manage the presentation, documentation and negotiation, and the sale completes directly between buyer and seller.
Do you buy items or hold them in stock?
No. We never buy, own or store the pieces we handle. The item stays with its owner, or in the owner's chosen storage, until the sale completes and title passes directly to the buyer.
How is payment handled?
The buyer pays the seller directly, or through an independent escrow agent chosen for the transaction. Atlas Heritage never receives or holds the purchase price. Escrow is recommended for cross-border sales and for any transaction where the parties have not dealt before.
What does your service cost?
Our fee is a commission agreed in writing before any introduction is made. It is payable only when a sale completes. For a private sale the seller usually pays the commission; for a search mandate the collector who instructs us pays it. There is no charge for an initial assessment of your piece.
Why do you verify my identity?
High-value sales of art and luxury goods are subject to anti-money-laundering law. We verify the identity of both buyer and seller, and the source of funds where required, before any introduction. These checks protect everyone in the transaction, and serious collectors expect them.
Is my enquiry confidential?
Yes. Details of your piece, your identity and any price discussed are shared only with prospective buyers you approve, and only to the extent needed. Nothing is published on this website without your written consent.
Where do you operate?
We work with owners and collectors across the United Kingdom, continental Europe and the Gulf. Pieces can be located anywhere; viewings take place where the piece is kept, or at a neutral location agreed by both sides.
Is there anything you will not handle?
We do not broker items made of or containing ivory, tortoiseshell, rhino horn or any material restricted under CITES. We also decline pieces with gaps in their ownership history that cannot be explained, items subject to a legal dispute, and anything a seller is not entitled to sell.
